Guarded by Wisdom
Proverbs 7:5–6 (KJV)- “That they may keep thee from the strange woman, From the stranger which flattereth with her words. For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,”
Embracing wisdom and understanding will protect us from destructive temptations such as seduction, immorality, and anything that seeks to draw us away from God’s will. They may come with flattering words but spiritual discernment will expose the emptiness and deception of sin. It will help us uncover anything disguised as pleasure but is ultimately harmful to the soul.
Many people fall into trouble because they ignore warnings and underestimate the consequences of compromise. God’s wisdom gives us insight so we can recognize dangerous paths before we become trapped in them. It allows us to see beyond outward appearances and discern what is truly beneficial or destructive for our lives.
As believers, we must guard our hearts carefully and remain rooted in God’s truth so that we become less vulnerable to deception, flattery, and unhealthy desires. The Holy Spirit gives us strength to walk away from anything that could damage our relationship with God. In doing so we are preserved from unnecessary pain and guided into a life of purity and spiritual strength.
Prayer Point:
Dear Lord, fill my heart with Your wisdom to recognize and resist every form of temptation and deception. Give me discernment to walk in purity and obedience to Your will in Jesus’ name. Amen.
