Things God Hates 2

Proverbs 6:18–19 (NLT)- “a heart that plots evil, feet that race to do wrong, a false witness who pours out lies, a person who sows discord in a family.”

God’s hates those who plot evil against others. When a person nurtures harmful intentions, they are deliberately distorting the truth and acting against the very purpose for which humans were created which is to reflect goodness. God values integrity because it builds trust and life, but an evil-scheming heart destroys those foundations apart before actions even begin.

The “feet that race to do wrong” reveals urgency and eagerness to act out evil. It is passion and enthusiasm for destruction. God hates this because it accelerates harm in the world, spreading pain faster than it can be healed. Similarly, a false witness who pours out lies to misrepresent facts and weaponize words to damage others. Lies fracture relationships, corrupt justice, and leave lasting scars that are not easily forgotten.

Finally, the person who sows discord especially within a family or families strikes at one of the most sacred spaces of unity, support, trust, and growth. Intentionally creating division undermines peace and replaces it with suspicion and conflict. This behavior is so corrosive because it destroys community from the inside out.

Prayer Point:

Heavenly Father, please guide us away from attitudes and actions that erode both our lives and the lives of others in Jesus name, amen.
