Growing in Kindness and Peace
Proverbs 3:29–30 (NLT)– “Do not withhold good from those who deserve it when it’s in your power to help them. If you can help your neighbor now, don’t say, “Come back tomorrow, and then I’ll help you.””
Today’s reading gently reminds us to treat the people around us with care. It encourages us not to plan harm or hold onto thoughts that could hurt someone who trusts us. God values trust and kindness in our relationships. When someone feels safe with us, that’s something precious. Following God includes learning how to love and respect others in simple, everyday ways.
These verses also guide us away from unnecessary arguments. Sometimes misunderstandings happen, but we don’t have to respond quickly with frustration or defensiveness. God invites us to choose patience and peace instead. To achieve this we must work on our temperament and learn to control our words and actions in every situation especially when unpleasant. We must learn to pause, to listen, and to respond gently. Even small choices toward peace can make a big difference in our homes, workplaces, and friendships.
Today, take a quiet moment to reflect: Am I helping create a peaceful and safe space for others? Are others free to air their feelings and opinions to us? If you are in a position of authority ensure that you do not oppress your subordinates. Remember, spiritual growth is a process. God is patient with you as you learn. Each day is a new opportunity to practice kindness, honesty, and calmness, trusting that He is shaping your heart little by little.
Prayer Point:
Father God, thank You for your daily guidance and direction. Help me to be kind, patient, and trustworthy today. Teach me how to respond with peace and love in my relationships in Jesus name. Amen.
