Doing The Good You Can Today

Proverbs 3:27–28 (KJV)- “Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.”

Following God is not only about what we believe. It is also about how we treat people each day. In these verses, God gently reminds us to do good when we have the chance. If we are able to help someone, whether by giving support, meeting a need, or simply offering kind words, we should not hold back. Even small acts of kindness matter to God.

Sometimes we delay helping because we feel busy or distracted. We may think it will be easier to help tomorrow. But when we are able to do something good today, choosing to wait can cause someone to feel unseen or unimportant. God invites us to care for others in the moment, with simple and willing hearts.

As you go through your day, notice the opportunities around you. There may be someone who needs encouragement, patience, or practical help. God often works through ordinary people in ordinary situations. When you choose to act with kindness, you are reflecting His love in a real and meaningful way. In return, you will also receive timely help at your time of need.

Prayer

Father, thank You for caring for me each day. Please help me notice when someone needs help or kindness. Give me a willing and gentle heart to act without putting it off. And may I find timely help at the point of my needs. Let my words and actions show Your love today in Jesus name, Amen.
