Wisdom is The Prize
Proverbs 4:7-8 (NLT)- “Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do! And whatever else you do, develop good judgment. If you prize wisdom, she will make you great. Embrace her, and she will honor you.”
Wisdom is like a quiet guide that helps you make better choices each day. When the verse says, “If you prize wisdom,” it is asking us to see wisdom as a treasure worth choosing daily. Sometimes, life presents small decisions that shape bigger outcomes. Choosing patience over anger, kindness over harshness, or truth over convenience are all ways of prizing wisdom. These small steps gradually build a life that reflects God’s heart.
Wisdom gently guides us in the small, everyday choices we often overlook. It helps us choose kind words instead of harsh ones, patience instead of quick anger, and truth instead of taking the easy way out. It teaches us to forgive rather than hold onto bitterness, and to spend time with God instead of being constantly distracted. Even in simple moments, wisdom leads us to pause, reflect, and respond in ways that bring peace and clarity.
It also shapes how we live and relate with others. Wisdom helps us choose good friendships, listen carefully before speaking, and manage our time by focusing on what truly matters. It guides us to handle our resources responsibly and to do what is right, even when no one is watching. These choices may seem small, but over time, they build a life that reflects God’s goodness and grace.
Prayer Point:
Lord, help me to value and choose Your wisdom in all I do today. Teach me to make choices that honor You in Jesus name.
