The Pursuit of Wisdom
Proverbs 4:5 (NLT)- “Get wisdom; develop good judgment. Don’t forget my words or turn away from them.”
Wisdom doesn’t just happen accidentally rather it must be intentionally pursued. In this passage the instruction is clear: “Get wisdom; develop good judgment.” This means wisdom requires effort, humility, and a willingness to learn. God invites us to actively seek understanding through His Word, prayer, and wise counsel. Just like we work hard for success in life, we must also work diligently to grow spiritually.
Developing good judgment means learning how to make decisions that align with God’s will. Every day presents choices—some small, others life-changing. When we ignore wisdom, we often rely on emotions, pressure, or temporary desires. But when we seek wisdom from God, our decisions are guided by truth rather than impulse.
God’s wisdom protects us from unnecessary mistakes and helps us walk the right path. When we pursue wisdom daily, we begin to see life through God’s perspective. The more we value His instruction, the more our lives reflect stability, peace, and clarity.
Prayer Point:
Lord, help me to pursue Your wisdom every day. Give me understanding and guide my decisions so that my life reflects Your truth and purpose in Jesus name. Amen.
