Do Not Turn Away from Wisdom
Proverbs 4:6 says, “Don’t turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you. Love her, and she will guard you.”
The scripture warns us not to forget God’s words or turn away from them. In life, distractions are everywhere be it success, worries, opinions, or pressures and can easily pull our attention away from God’s truth. God’s Word is like a compass that keeps us moving in the right direction. When we regularly meditate on it, our minds are renewed and our hearts remain aligned with His purpose. But when we ignore it, confusion and poor choices can take over.
The instruction in Proverbs reminds us to hold firmly to what God has spoken. When we neglect wisdom, we slowly drift from the guidance that protects our lives. Remaining faithful to wisdom requires discipline. It means choosing to stay on God’s truth even when it is unpopular or difficult. When we refuse to turn away from wisdom, we position ourselves to receive God’s protection and guidance in every area of life.
We must value it by prioritizing God’s guidance above personal pride, quick decisions, or worldly opinions. When we truly love wisdom, we begin to seek it in every situation before speaking, before acting, and before making important choices.
Prayer Point:
Lord, help me to love and value Your wisdom. Let it guide my thoughts, decisions, and actions so that my life is protected and directed by You. Father, help me remain faithful to Your Word. Keep my heart from drifting away from Your wisdom, and help me to always remember and follow Your truth in Jesus name, Amen.
