Kept From Hidden Traps
Proverbs 3:25–26 (KJV) “Be not afraid of sudden fear, Neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the LORD shall be thy confidence, And shall keep thy foot from being taken.”
Life often presents us unexpected moments that try to shake our peace because of some challenges that arise without warning, and unseen dangers that may lie along our path. Yet God assures us that we do not walk alone. He sees every hidden snare and is able to deliver us from being caught in traps we never even knew were there. When we place our focus and confidence in Him, fear begins to lose its hold on us.
It is natural to think that protecting ourselves through our own strength or strategy will keep us safe but while wisdom and prudence are valuable, the LORD’s defense is far greater than anything we can construct. This scripture reminds us that “in the fear of the LORD is strong confidence”. Walking in reverent awe of Him, guided by His wisdom, understanding, and knowledge, gives us a deep sense of security. The most courageous people are those who trust fully in God because their confidence is not rooted in themselves but in His unchanging faithfulness.
There will be days when you feel tired, weak, or discouraged. You may face adversity that seems overwhelming or impossible. Your feet may feel literally weak and shaky but in those moments, remember that your security does not depend on your own strength. Rest in His presence today because The LORD Himself is your confidence. He will steady your steps, keep your foot from slipping, and guard your way. As you trust Him, you will discover a calm assurance that carries you through every uncertainty.

Father, thank You for being my strength, confidence and my security. Deliver me from hidden traps and unseen dangers. When fear tries to rise, remind me that You are near. Teach me to walk in wisdom and reverent trust, knowing that You are guarding my steps today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
