Rooted in Wisdom
Proverbs 2:22 (NLT)- “But the wicked will be removed from the land, and the treacherous will be uprooted.”
Throughout this chapter, God paints a picture of wisdom as protection, guidance, and stability. It guards our hearts, directs our steps, and keeps us aligned with what is right. Verse 22 ends the chapter as a sober contrast.
The wicked and the treacherous are not removed because God is cruel, but because their choices place them outside the life-giving order wisdom creates. Wickedness uproots itself because when people reject truth, justice, and faithfulness, they detach from the very soil that sustains life.
To be “removed from the land” is to lose grounding- belonging, peace, and security. But those who pursue wisdom are planted deeply and flourish. God’s desire is not to uproot us, but for us to be deeply rooted in God. He invites us daily to choose wisdom so our lives are firmly established in Him.
Prayers
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your freely given wisdom. Plant me firmly in Your truth, guard my steps, and establish my life in righteousness. May my choices today honor You so I can be deeply rooted and bear lasting fruit in Jesus name. Amen
