Pursue Wisdom Intentionally
Proverbs 4:7 (KJV)- “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: And with all thy getting get understanding.”
The instruction to “get wisdom” reminds us that wisdom does not usually appear on its own; it is something we learn to pursue intentionally. Just as people invest time and effort in gaining education, building careers, or developing opportunities, we are also encouraged to seek wisdom in our daily lives. This pursuit grows through humility, patience, and a willingness to learn from God and from other children of God who walk in faith.
Wisdom grows as we spend time in God’s Word, studying it and allowing its truth to shape how we live. God also places wisdom within His servants who share guidance through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. As we listen to wise counsel and reflect on our own experiences, we begin to grow in understanding. Taking time to pray and seek God’s guidance before making decisions also helps us become more attentive to His direction.
God graciously promises to give wisdom to those who sincerely ask Him. As we continue to seek wisdom, we begin to see situations more clearly and respond with greater discernment and patience. Over time, this steady pursuit helps shape our character and deepens our faith in God.
Prayer Point:
Father, give me a heart that seeks Your wisdom. Help me to learn from Your Word and from the counsel You provide through others. Guide my decisions so that I may walk in discernment each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
