The Safety of Wisdom
Proverbs 3:23–24 (KJV)- “Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, And thy foot shall not stumble. When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: Yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.”
In this passage, God promises that when we trust Him and hold tightly to His wisdom, He will guide our steps. Walking safely means we are not walking alone even in the midst of challenges. The Lord directs our path, helps us avoid unnecessary pitfalls, and gives us stability when the road feels uncertain.
To stumble spiritually can mean falling into fear, temptation, confusion, or discouragement. Yet when we anchor ourselves in God’s Word and depend on Him daily, He strengthens us and keeps us steady. Even if we face difficulties, we are upheld by His hand and we will never fall. As we learn to rely on Him instead of our own understanding, we begin to experience the confidence that comes from being guided by a faithful Father.
One of the greatest blessings of trusting God is peaceful rest. Fear often grows in quiet moments, especially when we are alone at night, but this scripture reminds us that we can lie down without being afraid. Sweet sleep comes because we know that God is in control. Today, choose to trust Him with every concern, knowing that His wisdom brings safety, His presence brings courage, and His faithfulness brings peace.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for guiding my steps and watching over my life. Teach me to trust You when fear tries to overwhelm me and remind me that You are near. Steady my feet so I do not stumble, and fill my heart with Your peace. Give me sound peace and help me to rest every night in confidence, knowing You are in control. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
