Sexual Sins Will Not Go Unpunished

Proverbs 6:28–29 (NLT)- “Can he walk on hot coals and not blister his feet? So it is with the man who sleeps with another man’s wife. He who embraces her will not go unpunished.”

Today’s scripture reveals yet again that sexual sin, especially in the form of betrayal like adultery, carries consequences that are deeply scarring. A person who repeatedly gives in to such demonic subjects their soul to the torment of hell. The Bible tells us in Ezekiel 18:20 that every soul that sinneth shall die. The perverse person has a weakened sensitivity to lust that leads to consistent compromise.

Compromise damages relationships because trust once broken is difficult to rebuild, and the ripple effects extend far beyond the individuals involved. Families fracture, friendships dissolve, and communities can be shaken. What may begin as private indulgence spreads like fire consuming more than intended. The punishment is both divine and natural.

On a daily level, this proverb calls for vigilance and self-discipline. Guarding our thoughts, setting clear boundaries, and choosing to flee in the face of temptation will deliver our soul from hell’s torment. Each day presents a choice for every believer to step onto the coals or to walk in wisdom.

Prayer Point:

Heavenly Father, please guide me in coosing wisely actions that leads to peace, stability, and to live a life that builds rather than destroys in Jesus name. Amen.
