Finding God Through Reverence
Proverbs 2:5 (NLT)- “Then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.”
This verse tells us that understanding the fear of the Lord is something we discover as we seek wisdom. Earlier in Proverbs 2, we are invited to listen closely, treasure God’s commands, and search for wisdom as for hidden treasure. The result of that pursuit is not just better judgment, but deeper relationship.
The fear of the Lord opens our eyes to who God truly is. As our reverence for Him grows, so does our intimacy with God. We begin to recognize God’s voice more clearly, discern His ways more wisely, and trust His heart more fully then we enjoy all the benefits in God. Knowledge of God is not merely getting information about Him but living the same kind of His life- The Zoe life of God- on this earth.
God does not hide Himself from those who sincerely seek Him rather as we grow in reverence for Him, he will lead us into deeper knowledge of who He is. When life feels uncertain or noisy we must trust in Him to shape our life by His truth.
